The latest Mercedes-Benz Cla: an elongated version with a basic body kit

At the Motor Show in Shanghai, the premiere of the German brand remained unnoticed. Without unnecessary noise, Mercedes-Benz showed a “stretched” third-generation Cla. For the Chinese market, this premiere is difficult to overestimate: at the local Beijing-Benz plant, the model on the MMA platform is first localized. The sedan was shown in the form of an electric car Cla 300 L: under a unique index, the filling of the European CLA 250.

The Chinese Cla is slightly longer than the “global”: the wheeled base is increased by four centimeters (up to 2830 mm). Similarly, the overall length has increased (up to 4763 mm). Such a modest increase was a surprise. Of the other innovations – the rear sofa and softer side rollers enlarged by a centimeter. And in Shanghai, the sedan was first publicly shown without AMG body kit.

There are no technical changes for the Middle Kingdom: the basic CLA 300 L repeats the European version with the “250” index, is equipped with the only electric motor from the back (272 hp and 335 nm). According to the Chinese standard, CLTC batteries with a capacity of 85 kilowatt-hours is enough by 866 kilometers, although the WLTP European cycle indicates more realistic 792 kilometers. There are no differences for different markets.

Mercedes will get rid of two models and complete a long -term partnership

It is assumed that the first market for Mercedes-Benz Cla will still be Europe, and electric cars will appear with local dealers in July. In China, the sedan is waiting closer to the end of the year, because yet certification has not yet taken place. Still on the way the Cla Shooting Brake station wagon, but not all markets are expected to be awaited by such a body.
