The new Lada ISKRA has passed the reinforced crash tests on the Arncap protocol

The car, which in the future will appear on the Russian market, was tested in a frontal collision with a 40 percent overlap at a speed of 64 kilometers per hour. According to AvtoVAZ, the test was carried out according to more stringent standards than those used in certification and ended with an assessment of four stars. The company noted that damage to all key areas, including the head and hips of mannequins, remained within safe limits.

AvtoVAZ announced an additional test of the Lada ISKRA model for the expanded Arncap protocol. This standard is considered more strict, since it coincides in a number of parameters with the requirements of the European EURO NCAP system. In particular, the crash test included a front collision with a partial overlap, but not at a certification speed of 56 kilometers per hour, but by 64 kilometers per hour, which increases the load on the body by almost a third.

For the audit, a universal modification of Lada ISKRA SW Cross was used with the highest mass among the entire line and with sixteen -inch wheels. According to the manufacturer, during the tests, all security systems worked as it should be, which provided the models of the highest rating – four stars. It is indicated that the heads and hips of passengers remained within the so -called “green zone”, and the chest cells received a more moderate, “yellow” assessment.

At the end of May, photographs with the results of the Lada ISKRA crash test appeared on social networks, which caused a stormy discussion. In the pictures, it is noticeable that the main blow fell on the driver’s side – the door jackets, the cladding was damaged, and on the upholstery there was an imprint from the mannequin. Users drew attention to the fact that there are no traces of the work of the side pillows of safety, and also expressed doubt about the shape of the headrests. The machine was supposedly used in the very tests that AvtoVAZ officially reported.
