The new Nissan Leaf will become more powerful, long -term and spacious

An electric car of the third generation is prepared for the premiere. It will be presented on June 18, but for now, Nissan shared the details of the power plant. A new electric motor debuts on Leaf, which will surpass the predecessor unit in power, and thanks to the optimized thermoregulation system, the powerage range will increase in cold weather.

The new power plant includes a 214 horsepower electric motor and 355 nm of torque. For comparison: Actual Leaf is available with the EM57 electric motor for 150 or 218 horsepower. The new unit is also more compact than the previous one, so there was enough space under the hood on the climate installation block, while the salon became more spacious.

The container of the third-generation electric car has not yet been made public, the predecessor is offered with batteries with a capacity of 40 or 62 kilowatt hours to choose from.

According to the new information, the new Leaf will have a back multi -link suspension, the lateral rigidity of which is increased by 66 percent. The 19-inch wheels are promised to the crossover.

Earlier it was reported that the “third” LEAF coefficient of aerodynamic resistance is 0.26 in the version for the Japanese and American markets and 0.25 in European specifications. For comparison: in the current Leaf it is 0.28. Such a result was achieved due to new buildings of external mirrors and the design of the wheeled discs. A feature of the model will be an electric panoramic roof, which is darkened entirely or in separate sections.

The production of the new generation Nissan Leaf is organized at the plant in Sanderland, where the current model is also produced. According to the automaker, from the moment of launch of the model 15 years ago, more than 700 thousand electric cars of the first and second generations were sold around the world.
