The company told a Gazeta.Ru correspondent that the initial plans turned out to be overly optimistic – the model is now at the engineering stage.

“Currently, the F20 model (commercial van) is being assembled and prepared for transfer for certification. The C55 (crossover) model is being designed, we really hope that we will begin testing the model in the fall,” the company said.

Previously, Russo-Balt announced the display of the first SUV in June 2026. The C55 is expected to be an all-electric all-wheel drive crossover. The key feature is the stainless steel body and angular design in the style of the Tesla Cybertruck with chopped panels and characteristic optics.

The dimensions of the C55 are 5450 mm in length, 2120 mm in width and 1800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3035 mm. The basic version will receive two electric motors with a total power of 550 hp. with acceleration to 100 km/h in 6 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h. The declared range is up to 500 km. Optionally, they promise a 1000-horsepower version with four engines, air suspension and a hybrid installation.

The basic equipment will include 20-inch forged wheels, a panoramic roof, leather interior with heating and ventilation, a 15-inch screen, all-round cameras and an audio system. The price of the starting version is 8 million rubles. Russo-Balt positioned the C55 as a competitor to the Lexus LX, BMW X6, Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
