The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is working on a modernized version of the 2.7-liter “atmospheric” ZMZ Pro with a capacity of 150 horsepower. Now the unit is undergoing bench tests, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the manufacturer. If everything goes according to plan, it will be put to operation in the fall – perhaps already in mid -September, as the Russian newspaper writes with reference to insiders.
The ZMZ Pro engine with a volume of 2.7 liters develops 149.6 horsepower and is put on Patriot, Pikap, Profi and Hunter. UAZ notes that improvements “will radically increase the degree of tightness of the unit and a reserve of reliability.” According to the Rossiyskaya Gazeta, we are talking about an increase in the number of mounting points around the perimeter of the valve cover and in the intervals between the openings of the candle wells.
In addition, UAZ is working on Patriot with a new turbodiesel. This is a modification with a bunch of a Chinese engine JAC with a volume of 2.0 liters produced in Russia and a six -speed manual gearbox of production of ZMZ.
UAZ and Sollers temporarily stopped the production of all -terrain vehicles UAZ Hunter lost a curious option: the “guilty” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Germany sell a very expensive “loaf”
It is expected that the flagship will acquire a new unit until the end of this year, and this version will account for from 15 to 20 percent of sales.
UAZ planned large investments in the modernization of production – for a couple of years, 18 billion rubles will be spent on development and expansion. Investments will come from the Sollers maternal company.
