Announced the winner of the competition “World Car of the Year”

This year, the award was without surprises: in 2025, as in 2024, the KIA electric car was recognized as the best car in the world, but if it was EV9 last year, now EV3. For first place, he fought with the BMW X3 and Hyundai Inster. The latter, by the way, received a prize in the Electrocark of the Year nomination, bypassing the same Kia EV3, as well as Porsche Macan Electric.

According to the rules of the competition, the models participating in it must meet certain requirements. Firstly, they should be officially represented in at least two continents and in two main markets (China, Europe, India, Japan, Korea, Latin America or the USA). Secondly, the annual volume of their production should be at least 10 thousand copies. Thirdly, they should cost below the level of luxury cars.

In the category “Luxual Car of the Year”, Volvo EX90 won, who fought for this title with Porsche Panamera and Macan. But in the nomination “Best City Car”, the main prize was taken by the BYD Chinese brand – Seagull/Dolphin mini, bypassing Hyundai Inster/Casper Electric and Mini Cooper Electric. The best sports car in 2025 was the best productive car of the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, competing in this nomination with the BMW M5 and Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.

Finally, the jury recognized Volkswagen ID. BuZZ with the best design car (KIA EV3 and Toyota Land Cruiser / Land Cruiser 250 also reached the final), and the Persona of the year was called the BYD Vice President Stella Lee.

Last year, the “best car in the world” was KIA EV9, and this model won in two nominations at once – the main and “electric car of the year”.
