For the first time since 2023, sales of new cars collapsed since 2023

From the statistics published by Avtostat, it follows that in February the Russians bought 78 thousand new cars, and this is 24.9 percent less than in the same month of 2024. The market went into minus for the first time in almost two years, namely from April 2023, when the fall was 11 percent. The next 23 months sales grew, and this continued until the last winter month of 2025.

In February, the volume of the car market amounted to 78,040 cars. Almost every third car, sold last month, was the LADA brand – the share of the domestic brand was 31 percent, which corresponds to 25,573 to the machines. The most popular foreign car in the last month of winter was the Chinese Haval, whose dealers sold 9570 cars.

The TOP-3 also included Cher (8389 pcs), behind which Geely (5101 pcs) in fourth place. On the fifth line, Changan completed February (4424 pcs.). In total, since the beginning of the year, that is, in January-February, 167,112 new cars have been sold in Russia, and this is 9.3 percent less than in the same period of 2024.
