Mazda showed the first teasers of a mysterious compact model

They almost went unnoticed: the images showed in a printed form during an event in Thailand, at which the company announced the upcoming investments in local production of electrified machines. They were not published by Mazda, but by the Thailand investment council. On teasers, a compact car with exhaust pipes is visible-that is, probably with gasoline-electrical power plant.

Although the proportions of cars are usually hypertrophied on sketches, we can say that the novelty from Mazda will receive a sports look. It is also evident to comply with the modern designer language of the brand, including the similarity with the next generation Mazda CX-5, which has already been photographed during road tests. However, the models are similar only to the front line: the crossover from the teasers has a sloping roof and small almost round lanterns on the stern.

The media believe that Mazda is preparing the heir to the obsolete CX-3, who can get the name CX-20. The company itself does not yet disclose details.

Mazda is going to invest five billion baht ($ 150 million) in the production of electric cars and hybrids in Thailand, which will produce 100 thousand cars a year.

Over the next three years, she will present five new products in the country. The first will be the Mazda 6e sedan, and the electric crossover will follow it-perhaps developed together with the Chinese Changan Mazda CX-6E. Next is a large hybrid SUV and two “meek” crossovers. The last of them will be launched on the market in 2028.
